UNIVERSAL POLYURETHANE SEALANT

DAYSON UNIVERSAL is a single component polyurethane based elastomeric sealant which cures under the effect of atmospheric humidity to form a flexible and resistant joint with very good adhesion on most materials.
DAYSON UNIVERSAL can be used for bonding and caulking different materials used in the general industry: concrete, wood, aluminium, most lacquered metals, polyester, glass, stone, etc. See also material safety data sheet
Substrate preparation:

The substrates must be clean, even, dry, free of dust, oil, grease and any contaminants that could harm bonding. All traces of poorly adherent paints or coatings should be systematically removed beforehand. Clean the substrates with DAYSONNET 683, methylethylketone (MEK), acetone or degreaser DAYSON 1001. Check the compatibility of the solvent used with the substrates. If necessary, rub down metal surfaces beforehand. Clean them after rubbing down. Allow the substrates to dry after degreasing. If necessary, apply a primer. Not: when using solvents, extinguish all sources of ignition and carefully follow the safety and handling instructions given by the manufacturer or supplier. We recommend to clean concrete with a metal brush.

Caulking:

DAYSON UNIVERSAL can be applied by a manual or pneumatic gun. After application, each joint should be smoothed out using a wet and soapy plastering knife. This product should be used within 24 hours of opening the cartridge or sausage; otherwise the sealant could harden inside. If applied in cold weather, store the packagings at about 20°C before use. Do not apply on silicones or in the presence of cured silicones. Avoid contact with alcohols and solvents during curing.

Cleaning:

Tools should be cleaned with DAYSONNET 683, MEK or acetone before the sealant has completely cured. After curing, abrasion is necessary.

12 months in the original, hermetically sealed cartridges or sausages between 5 and 25 °C.
